artist statement

The guiding principles that inform my art have developed from time spent sitting with the dying in hospice, my studies of compassion and Buddhism with teachers from Stanford and Harvard Universities, serving displaced refugees, parenting a cancer survivor, surviving cancer, estrangement from family, and the chaos that comes with raising four humans.
